About+Me.jpg

I am an avid photographer and lifelong resident of Queens, New York City. After a long and successful career in the federal government, Iā€™m finally doing what I really wanted to do when I grew up: enjoying the outdoors, traveling, and creating visual art.

I earned a BA in Fine Art from Queens College, City University of New York, where I studied painting. For several years thereafter, I belonged to a cooperative art gallery in Jamaica, Queens. A year after graduation, I was a newlywed and an expectant father. So, I took a federal job as a benefits technician, intending to stay only until my art career took off. That never happened; but my federal career did, for which I have no regrets. However, my inner being remained then, and now, that of an artist.

I have enjoyed photography since my uncle gave me a Kodak Instamatic 104 for Christmas when I was ten. I have had little formal training other than one photography course in college, and I am primarily self-taught. My art training in composition, design, color theory, perspective, etc. serve me well in this discipline. Ten years ago I became serious about photography, especially nature photography, as a creative outlet. To this day, I enjoy building my creative and technical skills.

When I am not out with my camera, I enjoy time with my wife, my four grown children, and now my two young grandchildren. I am also a lifelong bodybuilding enthusiast, and I occasionally play a really bad game of golf. (I can crush the ball but I have trouble finding it!) I no longer paint, but I love visiting museums and art galleries.

In this, my second act, I photograph wildlife, landscapes, flowers, macros, and occasional cityscapes in and around the New York City tri-state area and during my travels. I hope my images bring pleasure and relaxation to you, the viewer. Please join me in my creative journey.
